Istraživanja u području keramičke tehnologije

Atelier za istraživanja u keramici usmjeren je na razvoj i testiranje novih keramičkih materijala, glazura, površinskih obrada i eksperimentalnih tehnika paljenja – s naglaskom na raku, saggar i alternativne metode. Tehnološki segment istraživanja obuhvaća analizu ponašanja različitih glina, razvoj autorskih receptura za engobe i glazure, ispitivanje kompatibilnosti materijala te optimizaciju procesa sušenja, pečenja i hlađenja. Cilj je stvoriti bazu znanja i praksi koje će unaprijediti lokalnu keramičku produkciju i proširiti tehničke mogućnosti umjetnika i edukatora u radu s keramikom.

Research in the Field of Ceramic Technology

The Atelier for Ceramic Research is focused on the development and testing of new ceramic materials, glazes, surface treatments, and experimental firing techniques—with particular emphasis on raku, saggar, and alternative methods. The technological segment of the research includes the analysis of the behavior of different clay bodies, the development of original engobe and glaze recipes, testing material compatibility, and optimizing drying, firing, and cooling processes.

The aim is to establish a knowledge base and set of practices that will enhance local ceramic production and expand the technical possibilities for artists and educators working with ceramics.

Umjetnička istraživanja

Umjetnički dio rada Ateliera temelji se na interdisciplinarnom pristupu koji povezuje kiparstvo, slikarstvo, grafiku i vizualnu naraciju. Fokus je na istraživanju forme, volumena, taktilnosti i značenja u keramičkom objektu kroz eksperiment i autorski izraz. Umjetnici ispituju granice između uporabnog i skulpturalnog, tradicionalnog i suvremenog, te razvijaju nove vizualne jezike u keramici – od minimalističkih površina do kompleksnih narativnih struktura. Proces se dokumentira i dijeli kroz radionice, izložbe i suradnje s lokalnom i međunarodnom zajednicom.

Artistic Research

The artistic dimension of the Atelier's work is grounded in an interdisciplinary approach that connects sculpture, painting, printmaking, and visual narrative. The focus lies on exploring form, volume, tactility, and meaning in the ceramic object through experimentation and individual artistic expression.

Artists examine the boundaries between functional and sculptural, traditional and contemporary, while developing new visual languages in ceramics—from minimalist surfaces to complex narrative structures. The process is documented and shared through workshops, exhibitions, and collaborations with local and international communities.
